ZOE Virtual Mission Trip
OCTOBER 6 • 9-10:30 AM • PRE-TRIP MEETING
OCTOBER 13 – 15 • 9-10:30 AM (each day) • VIRTUAL MISSION TRIP
Join us for a Virtual Mission Trip to Kenya, Rwanda, and India — right from the comfort of your living room!
We will be ‘traveling’ with folks from St. Luke’s UMC in Florida, along with our in-country guide Gaston Warner and the Zoe staff. Teresa Sherwood, Michelle Rebel, and Susan Luttrell will be the local leads on the trip. If you can’t make the trip but would still like to donate to this awesome ministry, you can DONATE here.
Sunday • October 18 • 12:00pm – 5:00pm • GYM
The need for blood is on the rise in our hospitals and clinics and the number of donations has been low. To help with this great need in our community our church family is sponsoring a blood drive in partnership with Carter BloodCare. Please share this invitation to serve through giving the gift of life with your friends, family, and co-workers.
All donors will need to schedule an appointment. Free antibody testing for COVID-19 will be provided to donors. Carter BloodCare practices social distancing and takes all precautions possible for safety. Donors will wait in their cars after checking-in and face masks will be required. Click the following link to make your appointment: Church-wide Blood Drive. You can also call 1-800-DONATE4 to make an appointment by phone.
Our partners in Hurricane Laura Relief in Texas and Louisiana are in need. Your donations will help the church respond today, tomorrow, and in the future. Here are two ways to donate.
- Louisiana Conference Disaster Response: DONATE or text “relief” to 800-500-5858
- UMCOR Disaster Response: DONATE
We partner with the Beautiful Feet Church in Fort Worth to minister to the local homeless population. Send all inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Collection time for these donations is every Monday from 9-11 am. Currently we are in need of people to make and/or donate:
- PB&J or Meat and Cheese Sandwiches
- Prepare Meals (i.e. Casseroles) for theme-of-the-week
- Donations of Chips, Cookies, Fruit, Packaged Condiments, and/or Water
Sometimes, it is the most simple act of thoughtfulness that really helps others know how much they are loved. In recent weeks you may have had a friend or neighbor become ill with COVID-19 or another illness and you may have wondered what you could do to bless them.
Consider creating a God is Big Enough Care Kit. We will provide you with a God is Big Enough wristband and a prayer card to include in your kit. You can pick these up near the Big Blue Bins in front of the Missions Building. Create a kit by writing a note of encouragement on the prayer card. Place the card, the wristband, soup, Gatorade, tissues, and other items in a bag, offer a prayer for your friend or neighbor, then deliver the care kit to their front door. With their consent, send a prayer request for them to email@example.com.
You can also make Care Kits for others to share, such as our pastors and Care Chaplains. Just drop the completed kit in the Big Blue Bins in front of the Missions Building. Contact Pastor Sharon at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Common Ground Network raises money with community donations to supply a week’s worth of healthy snacks and meals for children in the Mansfield ISD free and reduced lunch program.
- Tuna Fish single-serve containers
- Chicken single-serve containers
An excellent way to assist the elderly/disabled/disadvantaged in our community is with yard or minor exterior work on their homes. This is an easy serving project to complete on your own time. Contact Susan Luttrell for suggestions and contacts.
Our church is the drop-off point for the Mansfield area Meals on Wheels program of Tarrant County. Volunteers deliver lunch meals to homebound persons Monday through Friday.
Currently, we need volunteers to serve as Subs and Regular Route drivers. If you would like to serve with MOW, contact email@example.com.
